Privacy Policy

PuttLens is built around a simple principle: your putting practice is your business. Nothing leaves your device.

Last Updated · April 25, 2025

The short version: PuttLens does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party SDKs. Every video you record stays on your device. Speech recognition for the voice trigger runs entirely on-device — audio is never sent to any server, including Apple's.

No Account Required

PuttLens never asks you to create an account, sign in, or provide any identifying information. There is no login screen, no profile, and no registration flow because there is no server-side service to register with.

No Data Collection

PuttLens does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not phone home. It does not measure your usage. It does not send any information about you, your device, or your practice to Logical Appeals, LLC or to any third party.

Your Videos Stay on Your Device

All putting videos you record with PuttLens are saved locally on your iPhone or iPad using SwiftData and the device's on-device storage. Videos are never uploaded to any cloud service, server, or backend operated by Logical Appeals, LLC or anyone else. If you delete the app, your recorded videos go with it.

If you would like to back up your videos, export annotated frames, or share with a coach, you can use the standard iOS share sheet — those actions are entirely under your control.

Camera Permission

PuttLens requests access to your camera for one purpose only: to record slow-motion video of your putting stroke. Captured video is processed on-device and stored locally. Video is never streamed, transmitted, or shared with any external server.

Microphone Permission

PuttLens requests access to your microphone for one purpose only: to listen for your trigger word in Voice and Session recording modes. The microphone is only active when those modes are running. Audio used for trigger-word detection is processed entirely on-device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.

On-Device Speech Recognition

PuttLens uses Apple's SFSpeechRecognizer with requiresOnDeviceRecognition = true. This means all speech recognition for the voice trigger runs locally on your iPhone or iPad. No audio data leaves the device. Apple's servers do not receive any audio from PuttLens. Logical Appeals, LLC does not receive any audio from PuttLens.

About the iOS permission dialog. When you first enable a voice mode, iOS shows a standard system permission dialog that mentions speech data may be sent to Apple's servers. This wording is the default Apple uses for any app that requests speech recognition access — it cannot be customized. It does not describe how PuttLens actually works. PuttLens forces on-device recognition: audio is processed locally and is never transmitted to Apple, to Logical Appeals, LLC, or to any other server.

No Analytics

PuttLens contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no user-behavior tracking, no event logging beamed off-device, and no usage telemetry of any kind. We do not know how many putts you record, what features you use, or how long you spend in the app.

No Advertising

PuttLens contains no ad networks, no tracking pixels, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party identifiers. The app does not display ads.

No Third-Party Sharing

PuttLens does not share any data with any third party — because no data is collected. There are no integrations with social platforms, cloud storage providers, or analytics vendors that operate inside the app.

Children

PuttLens does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages, but because no data is collected from any user, no special data-handling provisions for children are needed.
